Summary

This fragment of a relief is made of white, fine-grained marble. The nose, part of the upper lip, part of the right eye and left ear are chipped. The relief has been examined with Visible Iinduced Luminescence. Two isolated areas showed luminescent pigments indicating Egyptian blue: the hair on the woman over her forehead, and on the cheek by the mouth.

Description of object

The head of a girl in three-quarter, left profile. She has rounded cheeks, a small mouth, and triangular forehead crowned by a melon hairstyle encircled by a plait.
