The head is made of white marble. The nose is missing. Traces of red-brown paint can be seen with the naked eye in the hair and beard .

In July, 2002 the head was given a new plinth.

The god has a highly regular face with curly hair and beard. Around his head is a fillet. The head has been meticulously executed: the skin has the quality of porcelain, and there has been extensive use of the drill in the hair and beard.
