Head of a young man

Resumé

The head is made of white marble. The nose has been broken off and is missing, and the rims of the ears are badly bruised. There is an indentation in the forehead. Frederik Poulsen noted in his catalogue from 1951 that the head is generally well preserved, and that there were traces of paint in the right eye visible to the naked eye.

In 1957 the nose was repaired and the head was cleaned and given a new plinth.

Genstandsbeskrivelse

White marble with greyish surface. The straw-like hair grows long over the brow, around the ears and especially down the back of the neck.
