Pinax fragments depicting a naked man and a black hand

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek

Resumé

Fragmented pinax depicting two individuals – a naked young man and an second unidentified indivdual, where only an outreaching hand is preserved. The upper edge of the pinax is decorated with a band of red lozenges with a black dot in the centre of each. Furthermore, three parallel bands in red, white and black are also rendered.

Genstandsbeskrivelse

To the right, a naked young man is rendered standing in profile. He is bending slightly forward, looking down and reaching out towards the hand of the second individual standing in front of him. His left leg is flexed, while his right leg is extended. His left arm is resting down the side. Around the left upper arm, he is wearing a jewellery piece with three pendants attached to it. The hand belonging to the other individual, presumably standing in front of him, is holding a long, yellow chain.
